Crewkerne's population is around 15,000. It has a bustling town centre with two supermarkets, food retailers, a main post office and a sub-post office, a dry cleaner, book shops and a fine art auctioneer.

There are many small and medium sized firms from traditional and engineering sectors to technology-based e-commerce businesses. There are many professional service firms in the town from banks, solicitors, estate agents and other specialist professionals. The town has several primary schools, a middle school and a specialist Business School with its own 6th Form.

Crewkerne is proud still to retain its own hospital and health centre along with two pharmacists and a veterinary practice. Culturally Crewkerne is rich and diverse, having an Aquacentre, sports pitches, an historic parish church among many denominations of worship, a Town Hall which hosts its own cinema, a museum, many clubs and societies and a range of restaurants.

There are many pleasant walks around the area and the world-heritage site of the Dorset coastline is approximately 10 miles away.

Bilby's Coffee House

"I'm delighted to be in Crewkerne. It's a beautiful area and it's easy to get to from the A303 & M5 but still close enough to the sea and rural Dorset to get away. Having the commuter line to London is incredibly convenient and it makes a change to drive into the office without traffic jams!

Our offices at Enterprise House are great - and free parking is pretty rare these days! I noticed the small things like fresh air and friendly local people who give you the time of day! House prices are certainly more reasonable than Bristol so the standard of living is greatly improved. Crewkerne is both entrepreneurial and enjoyable – Oscar's wine bar, restaurants and Bilby's coffee house!"
